Home in Nice

This website is only to relay our experience in Nice, specifically on Rue Catherine Segurane and the many spots we can easily walk to from there.

Welcome to la Rue Catherine Segurane, the street of the Antiquaires, directly bordering the Vieux Nice, five minutes away from the Port and the Mediterranean walking South and two minutes away from Place Garibaldi walking North. If you plan to visit Nice, like Carolle and I did on our first visits to France, it is definitely a neighborhood worth spending time discovering. If, like us, you have a strong interest in history and art, you will not be disappointed by the numerous antiques stores on and about Rue Segurane; you will look for the monthly flea market on Place Garibaldi, you will enjoy visiting the Marche aux Puces overlooking the Port de Nice. If you want more, every Monday at Cours Saleya, you can visit the Antiques Market and if you are a bibliophile, every first and last saturday of the month, you can attend the Marche aux Livres, Place du Palais de Justice, in the Vieux Nice.

We liked Nice so much, for its lively atmosphere and its good restaurants, that we decided to buy an apartment here. Three days before our return to the USA, we looked at several available flats in and around the Vieux Nice. We settled on one we saw on the last floor of a building Rue Catherine Segurane, with a wonderful view of the mountains and Mont Boron, over the tiled roofs.
